Small Woods Association helps to make your legacy count
A gift in your Will to Small Woods Association is one of the most valuable ways you can help keep your local woodlands alive and healthy.
Your kindness can help ensure a future for woodland in towns and the countryside.
Legacies to the Small Woods Association will help us to:
· Save neglected woods, and improve them for wildlife
· Support and encourage volunteers to conserve local woodlands
· Set up forest schools in woodlands across the country to inspire young people, especially those with behavioural difficulties or disabilities
· Train woodland workers to manage the woods of the future through our apprenticeship scheme
· Campaign for better management of woodlands
Visit our website to find more details on our projects across the country that are working to support local woodlands.
Legacies to Small Woods Association could really make a difference.
Here are some examples of how you could make a difference:

· Your support, no matter how large or small, will make a difference to woodlands.
Legacies to Small Woods Association have already helped protect wildlife in many parts of the UK. In the future your support could really make a difference.

Pecuniary – this is when you leave a specific sum of money to a person, organisation or charity. Please remember that inflation may impact on the value of this legacy.
There are also other ways of helping Small Woods Association, these include:
· Membership – becoming a member is a great way to meet other people interested in keeping our woodlands alive, and finding out how you can share the ownership of a woodland. Look on our membership page on www.smallwoods.org.uk
· Donations – making a personal donation to Small Woods Association. This could also be in the form of giving ‘shares’ or ‘company pensions’.
· A Gift in Memory – many choose to help woodlands through a gift ‘in memoriam’ or with a collection in ‘lieu of flowers’.
· Volunteering – volunteers give their valuable time, helping us keep woodlands alive, while learning new skills and socialising. Did you know you can ‘earn’ training course credits by volunteering at the Green Wood Centre, and with networks around the

Every legacy or donation received by Small Woods Association is valued and appreciated.
When we receive news of a legacy we like to say thank you and also, if it is appropriate, to understand a little of why our supporter remembered us. If you contact us now we can discuss how you would like to be commemorated for your donation.
Changing your Will to Support Small
If you already have a Will and would now like to include a gift to Small Woods Association you can use this codicil form. You can complete the details below (including having your signature witnesses) and send it to the person who currently holds your Will to store it with your Will.
Please do consult with your solicitor or advisor before completing the form. If your Will already has some codicils it could be better to avoid confusion and have your Will rewritten and it need not cost a fortune. Please do not write on or amend your current Will as this could invalidate your Will. Further information can be provided by the legacy team on 01952 432769 or by email at finance@smallwoods.org
