'Membership is open to anyone
who has the care and enjoyment
of small woods at heart'
We have a broad–based membership made up of people and organisations from all walks of life including woodland owners, practitioners, companies, colleges, local authorities and many who don’t own a woodland but have their care and conservation at heart.
Members manage their woods for many reasons including wildlife conservation, recreation, coppice and greenwood crafts, quiet enjoyment as well as timber production. Their woods range in size from a few trees in the back garden to many hectares.
So a small wood is no longer defined by size but more by attitude of mind and the approach by which it is managed.
