Visiting woodlands
British woodlands are criss-crossed with footpaths, bridleways and other forms of public access. For the sake of the people who care for woodlands it's best not to wander off the paths or you might damage young plants or trees.
Elsewhere you'll find arboretums and public forests that offer wider access and information about trees and wildlife. During the summer and autumn you may well have a local wood fair, where you'll discover all sorts of activities, organisations and businesses linked to woods and woodland products.
