Are you interested in working in Woodlands and green wood crafts?

Are you interested in an apprenticeship based in the Sussex and Kent area?

Monday 5th to Wednesday 7th March 2012  9.30am — 4.30pm

at the Woodland Enterprise Centre, Hastings Road, Flimwell TN5 7PR

 

This event is the perfect opportunity to see if a career in woodland management and green wood crafts is for you before you commit to a full time course.

You will have the chance to learn from local tutors and employers about:

Coppicing, Chestnut paling fencing, Horse logging and Woodland Management.

New Coppice and Green Wood Trades Apprenticeships
 
The Small Woods Association support the sustainable management of woodlands in the UK through a number of woodland projects. Having successfully run a national Coppice Apprenticeship scheme for a number of years, Small Woods, in association with Plumpton College, are now able to offer a new apprenticeship scheme to encourage young people in the South East into the coppice and green wood trades sector.
 
The Work-based Level 2 Apprenticeship Programme is designed for those who are interested in a successful career working in woodland management and traditional woodland crafts. It has a mix of theory and practical sessions where apprentices will learn the necessary skills and understanding to start a career in woodland management whilst earning a wage at the same time.
 
For any young people aged 17 or over before 1st September 2012 interested in finding out more, a 3 day ‘Work In The Woods’ taster event is being held at Plumpton College from the 5th to the 7th March 2012.There will be an opportunity to apply for the apprenticeships following the event.
