Movement restrictions introduced to protect against tree pest in Kent

Small woods magazine takes on new editor

Small Woods are pleased to announce the appointment of Derek Niemann, the new editor of our quarterley publication ‘Smallwoods’.

Derek Niemann began his career with five years working for wildlife trusts and had a year-long stint as a volunteer tree nursery manager. After working for the RSPB for 25 years, sixteen of them as a magazines editor, Derek is now a freelance writer and editor. He has written three non-fiction books; his latest A Tale of Trees: the battle to save Britain’s ancient woodland, will be published by Short Books in October.
