Edge Wood Volunteer Days - Autumn 2023

We welcomed three attendees to our recent open day at Edge Wood, all of whom enjoyed a wander round and hearing about the history and traditional coppice management at the site.

Following this, we lit a fire and shared hot drinks under canvas, while discussing the role and function of a potential regular volunteer group.  All three attendees were keen to return, and we agreed to reconvene on Friday 13th October from 10am - 3pm to identify this season’s ‘coup’ and begin clearing scrub ready for cutting.  We will likely meet fortnightly at the wood to start with, and we hope to attract more volunteers to the group once we start work!
