Moving ahead with the Meadow Street Woodland Hub

30 Awst 2022

A wonderful time was had by everyone who came along to the Open Fun Day on 18th August at Meadow Street Community Garden, which we hosted in partnership with Pontypridd Town Council. We had a great turn out of families, local Councillors and members of the community, who already use the site or were interested to find out more the site  how they can get involved.

On offer were our usual range of activities, including fire lighting, whittling, charcoal making and drawing and outdoor crafts. Everything was run by Richard Manning, one of the amazing Leaders working with Coed Lleol and Hannah from Growing Space, who is a regular at Meadow St.

Through ENRaW funding, Coed Lleol are supporting Pontypridd Town Council to become a Woodland Hub.We are planning to build new facilities which will help local people and organisations to access the woodland area of the site in all seasons, such as an all-weather shelter. Everyone was encouraged to give us their thoughts on their favourite shelter design, to make sure the building had mass appeals and could be enjoyed by all who used it. We were able to gather a wide range of thoughts, ideas and suggestions that will help us to move forward.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us on the day, we look forward to getting started on the site developments and seeing you at future activities at Meadow Street!
