GROWING TOGETHER

Conwy

Coed Lleol (Small Woods Wales) runs woodland health and wellbeing activity groups in Conwy as part of our Actif Woods Wales programme. Discover how woodlands can help breathe new life into your soul, while learning to care for the environment.

WHAT HAPPENS AT ACTIF WOODS CONWY?

Our sessions are designed to offer participants the opportunity to learn new skills, gain confidence, provide a friendly environment and opportunity to make friends, spend time outdoors and protect the natural environment.

Each session can consist of multiple woodland activities, such as:

Campfire cooking and foraging
Woodland walks
Conservation activities
Woodland crafts
Green gym
Survival skills
Mindfulness
Forest bathing
and much more!

WHY SHOULD I JOIN?

Spending time in woodlands has been proven to lower heart rate and blood pressure, reduce stress hormone production, boost the immune system, and improve overall feelings of wellbeing.

Find out more about the benefits of woodlands for health and wellbeing on our Social Forestry for Participants page.

MEET THE TEAM

Heli Gittins is the Project Officer for Conwy, having previously worked in partnership with Golygfa Gwydyr in Llanwrst on a feasibility study delivering health and wellbeing sessions. Heli has developed Step into Nature, a 6 week course and has run this with participants from MIND. She is now setting up a monthly session which initially will be run in Llanwrst, but will also scope out new sites to deliver programmes.
