Tutor: Flo Hamer

Specialising in traditional and heritage crafts, Flo works with natural materials to produce high quality work that is functional and beautiful. All of her work is linked by a love of making and a passion for keeping traditional crafts alive.

You will learn how to axe out a bowl blank, and turn it on a pole lathe, built by Flo, using hand forged tools. You’ll come away with a beautiful eating bowl which has been made using only hand tools and locally sourced English wood.

Suitable for complete beginners, but a base level of hand tools is useful. A moderate level of fitness is required as it is a physically demanding day.
