As plants reach their peak growth and strength in mid summer, we can utilise their natural properties to make durable and versatile string.

We will experiment with a variety of plants to extract their fibres, some of which we will sensitively harvest from around The Green Wood Centre, to then twist into natural cordage. We will also experiment with a basketry technique called 'looping'- using our cordage to make the starts of small net baskets.

The course is suitable for beginners.
