The course:
Learn how to weave on a peg loom and create a unique 40cm x 40cm sheep’s wool chair pad from raw, local materials!
Peg loom weaving is a fast paced yet meditative craft. The peg loom is a simple wooden board with a series of upright pegs, around which you can easily weave strips of fabric, yarn or wool to create thick, chunky textiles. Peg loom weaving is also a great way to upcycle materials.
You will learn:
- how to set up and string a peg loom
- the process of weaving
- how to adapt the technique to use fabric offcuts
The relaxed environment will allow plenty of time to complete your chair pad, ready take home at the end of the day.
Your tutor:
Catherine Crowther has worked with textiles for many years and runs a variety of sewing project workshops, in addition to teaching at a local college.
