Discover the skills and learn the techniques for making a traditional split-hazel frame basket, still known as a "whisket" in Mid Wales. You will prepare all of the components, straight from rods of hazel, with a minimum of tools, before assembling them into a whisket of your own creating. 
 
Some advisory notes... 
 
The preparation of split hazel is physically demanding, more so than traditional willow basketry. The process is probably unsuitable for people with a history of back/ neck/shoulder or knee problems although knee pads will be provided and alterative, less demanding methods may be used.
